Our favorite leading lady Son Ye-jin might return to the small screen in a new historical drama. The “Crash Landing On You” actress is said to be reviewing an offer to star in the upcoming drama “Pyeonggang, Cut To The Heart” set to air next year. Son Ye-jin was offered to play the role of Princess Pyeonggang of Goguryeo.
Meanwhile, Kang Ha-neul (“When the Camellia Blooms”) is also said to be in talks to play the role of On Dal opposite Son Ye-jin. The story of On Dal, commonly known as On Dal the fool, is often viewed as a historical folktale about a man who was born poor but rose to become a general and hero of Goguryeo. Tale has it that he married Princess Pyeonggang who brought him out of poverty and supported his education and martial arts training.
As a fan of ‘sageuk’ or Korean historical dramas, I’m pretty excited to have these two very good actors together in one project. Nothing has been set to stone yet, but I hope that both of them accept the offer. Both have previously acted in historical dramas and films. Son Ye-jin swept awards for her performance in the 2016 movie “The Last Princess.” Kang Ha-neul, on the other hand, played the role of the 8th prince Wang Wook in the 2016 drama “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.”
While reviewing offers, Son Ye-jin has been busy with her endorsements. Aside from her commercial for Smart Signature, she has been killing it in her endorsement shoots for Jennyhouse Salon Cosmetics. The 38-year-old Hallyu star looks stunning in these latest photos.
Son Ye-jin is also set to make her Hollywood debut in the film “The Cross” with Sam Worthington, to be directed by Andrew Niccol.
Looks like Son Ye-jin has a busy year ahead of her, which makes fans like us extremely happy.
