It is quite obvious that Mytor and I are You’re Beautiful addicts ne? And thanks to my fangirl friend Pao who is currently enjoying the freezing weather in Seoul,  I was able to visit the place where most scenes in Episode 6 of YB were shot — Myeong Dong, Seoul.

Episode 6 is where the faux date between Mi Nam and Shin Woo happened.  Mi Nam mentioned while talking to Shin Woo that she was in Myeong Dong and so adorable Shin Woo decided to give her a tour of the place, with him watching her back without her knowing it (I’m turning to a puddle of goo!!!).  He told her the best noodle place, where to eat the ice cream that she was craving for (it’s Baskin and Robbins) and where to shop for her umm, men’s clothes.

Luckily, Pao (who is a big, BIG fan of Jang Geun Suk) knows where those places were so we took pictures of ourselves just standing where Mi Nam, Shin Woo and Tae Kyung stood. Crazy right? But it was fun. At least we can say that we’ve been to those places.  So on with the pictures (pardon the smiley faces please…)

Picture taken in front of the Myeong Dong Church where Mi Nam was waiting for Tae Kyung to fetch her.  Notice the green lamp post and the tree which is almost bare during the time we took our pictures.

Mi Nam wanted ice cream after eating Kalguksoo (noodles) so Shin Woo directed her to the ice cream shop. This is the small side street where she walked while talking to Shinwoo. Landmark is the DVD sign behind Mi Nam and me (my pic was taken from a different angle…)

Awww…the place of rejection where both Mi Nam and Shin Woo stood after their faux date.  Shin Woo was going to reveal himself to Mi Nam but Tae Kyung called her so she went running away.  The tree will forever be a witness to that scene (and Shin Woo’s heartache.)

So there, hope you enjoyed my little fangirl account. To those who are planning to go to Myeong Dong, the place is very accessible through their interconnecting subway.  A special thanks to Pao because without her, it would not be easy for me to find these places.

  1. where exactly in myeongdong is the myeongdong church and the Baskin and Robbins are located??? because my mom and I were going to seoul this vacationa and I want to go there for I am also a huge fan of you’re beautiful…kamsahmnida….

    1. hello there!

The easiest way to go to Myeong Dong and the church is through the subway. There are 2 ways:
      1. From Exit No. 5 of Euljiro Ipgu Subway Station (Seoul Subway Line No. 2), walk 10 minutes.
      2. From Exit No. 8 of Myeong-dong Subway Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), walk 10 minutes.

You can easily find it. This link may also be useful for you: http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/SI/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=264138

On the other hand, I am not so sure about the specific Baskin and Robbins store because there’s a lot of them in Myeong Dong. Just enter one of them and try to taste the same ice cream that Go Mi Nam ate. 😀

Enjoy Seoul and don’t hesitate to ask for more questions.

  2. Hi again!!!only a few days to go before my mom and I visit Seoul..and I told myself that I will buy a stuffed pig rabbit(Tae Kyung made the stuffed toy for Mi Nam) and the hairpin there…do you know where I can buy it in Seoul??Thank you..By the way we’ll be leaving on April15 and I’m so excited!!!

    1. Hello there! Sorry for the late reply. Myeong Dong is a shopping district and you can see a lot of stuff there. Just roam around and you’ll see small stores selling different stuff from dramas. If you want original DVDs, you may also go to the Myeong Dong subway station because there are 2 DVD stores there. Enjoy your stay in Seoul.
