PLAVE has added another remarkable achievement to their growing list of milestones. Just one week after releasing their second single album, “PLBBUU,” the group recorded more than 1.09 million copies sold, according to South Korea’s Hanteo Chart data on November 16. The album, which dropped on November 10, marks a new personal best for the group.

Earlier this year, PLAVE made history as the first boy group and the first virtual idol group to surpass one million first-week sales with their third mini album, “Caligo Pt. 1,” released in February 2025. Now, less than three years since their debut, they have broken their own record once again. The release of “PLBBUU,” featuring a collaboration with beloved Sanrio characters, further cements PLAVE’s growing influence in K-pop.

“PLBBUU” now stands as the second-highest first-week sales record for a single album by a boy group in K-pop history, following BTS’ “Butter.” Its title track, “BBUU!,” also topped iTunes charts in seven countries and regions, including Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Peru.

This achievement adds to PLAVE’s string of groundbreaking accomplishments. After debuting in Japan with “Kakurenbo (Hide and Seek)” in June, the group swept Japan’s major music charts, including the Oricon Daily Single Chart, Oricon Weekly Single Ranking, Oricon Weekly Accumulative Single Ranking, and Billboard Japan’s Top Singles Sales and Hot 100. Between July 7 and July 13, the single sold more than 388,200 copies, making it the highest first-week sales for a Japanese release by international artists in 2025.

PLAVE also became the first virtual idol group to enter Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excluding U.S. charts. Their first Asia tour, 2025 PLAVE Asia Tour [DASH: Quantum Leap], sold out two of South Korea’s top five stadiums — KSPO Dome and Gocheok Sky Dome.

With unprecedented records in physical sales, digital performance, and concert attendance, PLAVE continues to prove their limitless potential, raising expectations for what the group will accomplish next.
