Bonjour Bakery.

Rakuten Viki recently launched “Bonjour Bakery,” a new Korean variety series that brings a star-studded cast to a cozy countryside café. The show premiered on May 8 and is now available for streaming throughout Southeast Asia.

The program features Kim Seon-ho, Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, and Lee Ki-taek. Together, they run a French-style pastry shop with a unique focus — a “Yes Senior Zone.” This concept ensures the café is reserved exclusively for guests aged 65 and older and their companions.

Unlike many modern competition shows, “Bonjour Bakery” focuses on ordinary moments and spontaneous conversations. Each episode highlights senior guests who share their life stories while enjoying desserts made with local Korean ingredients.

The staff is divided into two specialized teams. Cha Seung-won, who previously showed his culinary talents in “Hwayugi” and “Three Meals a Day,” serves as the head pastry chef. He works with Lee Ki-taek, the newest team member from “The Practical Guide to Love,” who acts as the assistant.

On the front-of-house side, “Moonlit Winter” actress Kim Hee-ae manages the café as the general manager. She is joined by Kim Seon-ho, the star of the K-dramas “Start-Up” and “100 Days My Prince.” Kim Seon-ho serves as the café barista, using his warm charm to connect with the visitors.

To ensure the shop operates authentically, all four actors completed rigorous pastry and barista training before filming. The production also plans to introduce special guest chefs throughout the season to add variety to the menu.

The show aims to bridge generational gaps through storytelling. While younger audiences are drawn to the popular leading actors, older viewers may find their own experiences reflected in the stories shared by the guests.

“Bonjour Bakery” is currently streaming on Rakuten Viki in the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The addition of this Korean variety series follows the platform’s recent acquisitions of popular titles such as “I Live Alone” and “The Return of Superman.”
