Disney+ announced yesterday that “Merry Berry Love” (working title), a brand-new romantic comedy about a down-on-his-luck Korean spatial designer and a strawberry farmer, is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
Announced onstage during the Disney+ Originals Preview at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, “Merry Berry Love” is a cross-border romantic comedy currently being shot in both Korea and Japan.
Starring Korea’s Ji Chang-wook (“The Manipulated,” “The Worst of Evil”) as Korean spatial designer Lee Yu-bin, and Japan’s Imada Mio (“Tokyo Revengers”) as strawberry farmer Shirahama Karin, “Merry Berry Love” is directed by Kim Soo-jung (“Semantic Error”) and written by Lee Tae-yoon (“Divorce Insurance”). The series is developed and produced by CJ ENM (“Parasite,” “Queen of Tears”) and co-produced by Nippon TV.
Held on November 13 at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, the 2025 Disney+ Originals Preview showcased the creative momentum of The Walt Disney Company, giving attendees an unprecedented glimpse at the Japanese, Korean, and global series set to debut on Disney+ through 2026 and beyond. Featuring guest appearances by some of the biggest creative names from Hollywood, Korea, and Japan, the event underscored the company’s deepening commitment to bold, award-winning storytelling on Disney+.
