Ji Chang-wook and Kim Ji-won are the latest pair to look forward to in a new drama. The two are set to star in a romance drama by the director of “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.”
‘City Couple’s Way of Love’
According to a report from Soompi, the drama entitled “City Couple’s Way of Love” “will tell the story of the realistic dating lives of young people fighting to survive in a hectic city.” The KakaoTV drama will possibly have multiple seasons. The first season of the drama starring Ji Chang-wook and Kim Ji-won has the subtitle “My Lovable Camera Thief.”
Ji Chang-wook will play the role of an honest and passionate architect named Park Jae-won. Meanwhile, Kim Ji-won will star as Lee Eun-oh, a freelance marketer who takes on a new identity as the free-spirited Yoon Sun-ah.
This will be Director Park Shin-woo’s first digital drama. He directed the recently concluded “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay,” and the hit drama “Encounter.”
“City Couple’s Way of Love” will have 12 episodes that will run for 30 minutes each. The short form drama is a relatively new trend in Korean entertainment. Most of these dramas are viewed through digital platforms such as V Live and YouTube.
Ji Chang-wook-Kim Ji-won Pairing
It’s been a while since Kim Ji-won had a new project. Her last drama was the fantasy series “Arthdal Chronicles” with Song Joong-ki. Meanwhile, Ji Chang-wook was last seen in the romantic comedy drama “Backstreet Rookie” with Kim Yoo-jung. Both have had limited success with their recent projects but their pairing looks like a potential hit.
Kim Ji-won is one of those actresses who doesn’t seem to have a problem with building chemistry. She looks good with any of her on screen partners, whether it’s Park Seo-joon, Jin Goo, or Song Joong-ki. Meantime, Ji Chang-wook has that boy next door leading man aura in him. Their potential chemistry, combined with a realistic script, and the director’s distinct visual aesthetic make a recipe for a hit drama.
