Viu today announced “The Way Back to You,” a new Viu Original romantic comedy starring AZ Martinez, Ralph De Leon, and Michael Sager, which will begin production in September 2026 and premiere on Viu in Q4 2026.
To give fans an early glimpse of the project, Viu also unveiled exclusive first-look images of the three stars.
First seen together on “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition,” the trio reunites in “The Way Back to You,” a highly anticipated series that follows a love triangle between Julia (AZ Martinez), Tristan (Ralph De Leon), and Patrick (Michael Sager) caught between the pull of first love and the realities of present-day love.
As the characters reconnect with people and places from their past, they are forced to confront unresolved feelings and decide whether the person they once loved still has a place in the life they have since built. It is a story about love, family, and the pull between who we were and who we have become.
Set in a fictional provincial town known for its onion farms, the series trades city life for a hometown setting, using its backdrop to ground the story’s romance and comedy in a way that will resonate with Filipino audiences. The tone is warm, witty, and hopeful — balancing humor and heart with the unexpected turns of coming home.
“The Way Back to You” is directed by acclaimed filmmaker JP Habac, whose notable works include the beloved romantic film “I’m Drunk, I Love You,” known for its emotionally resonant and character-driven storytelling. Line production is handled by Rein Entertainment, with award-winning writer and filmmaker Shugo Praico serving as Creative Head, forming a strong creative team with a grounded, distinctly Filipino sensibility.
