Almost three months after their hit web series “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow” streamed its finale, Filipino on-screen couple Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross announced the romantic comedy series “Love U Lots” as their new project on the streaming platform Viva One.
During Viva One’s The Next Fan Takeover: The Repeat fan meeting at the New Frontier Theater yesterday, Binene and Ross introduced the first teaser of “Love U Lots,” which will start streaming on July 24.
The teaser shows Binene as Issa, cheerfully greeting and helping her neighbors. Ross, playing the role of Estong, who is visibly smitten with her, then arrives. They hug, but a passing jeepney honks and startles her. Her demeanor changes. She slaps Estong and asks him who he is. An ice cream vendor then hands her an ice cream, and she shifts to a childlike personality.
Estong then touches her shoulder, and she becomes squeamish, complaining that his hands are dirty. When a stray basketball bounces off her feet, her mood and personality again shift as a perplexed Estong looks at her with concern. She then covers her ears, apparently hearing a ringing sound, and appears confused for a moment before she finally recognizes him. Seemingly back to her original self, she clings to his arms, and they leave together.
After seeing the teaser, a number of fans asked on social media if “Love U Lots” is an adaptation of the Thai romantic comedy “I Love a Lot of You.” The Thai series is about a man named Sun, who was hired by the father of Sairung, a woman with dissociative identity disorder, to make her fall in love with him. The father believes that if Sun successfully makes Sairung’s five personalities fall in love with Sun, they will all merge into one.
Binene and Ross are also set to star in another Thai title, “Pee Mak,” a horror comedy that became Thailand’s highest-grossing movie of all time.
More details about “Love U Lots” are yet to be announced. According to the teaser shown during the event, the series is helmed by Victor Villanueva, who also directed “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow.”
“Golden Scenery of Tomorrow” is a 21-episode adaptation of a Wattpad story written by Gwy Saludes, also known as 4rreuminct. It is part of the “University Series,” composed of six books, that tells the lives and loves of a group of friends from different campuses in Metro Manila.
In “Golden Scenery of Tomorrow,” Binene and Ross play Via and Arkin, respectively. They are childhood best friends who hide their feelings for each other in fear of ruining their friendship. When they finally become lovers, their relationship becomes complicated due to their ambitions and personal circumstances.

Also previewed during the Viva One fan event was the trailer for “Our Yesterday’s Escape” — the last story from the “University Series” — starring Nicole Omillo and Jairus Aquino.
The event also featured the cast of “Dating Alys Perez,” the sequel to “Seducing Drake Palma,” another popular Wattpad adaptation. The stars of “Project Loki,” “My Husband Is a Mafia Boss,” and “Hell University” also performed during the fan meeting.
