BINI, the Philippines’ own nation’s girl group, has officially concluded a landmark chapter in their career, delivering breathtaking performances across two weekends at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.

Capping off a whirlwind month that included an extended play, a globally distributed documentary on Netflix, and preparations for an international tour, BINI’s history-making Coachella debut solidifies their status as a pride of the Philippines.

Championing Filipino music at Coachella

Taking over the Mojave stage for 45-minute sets on both weekends, BINI members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena wowed the international crowd with pure star power, unmistakable Filipino energy, and standout Filipino-inspired fashion.

During their maiden set on April 11 (Manila time), the eight-member group made headlines as the first-ever Filipino act to step onto the Coachella stage. They opened with “Shagidi,” and gave the audience the first live performance of “Blush,” the key track from their new EP.

They also performed “Zero Pressure,” “Out Of My Head,” “Karera,” Salamin, Salamin,” “Blink Twice, “Cherry on Top,” and “Bikini.” Their final number for their first Coachella weekend was their viral hit “Pantropiko.”

The performance quickly became one of the highlights of Coachella’s first weekend, drawing praise from international publications such as Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and Billboard Korea.

The live performance videos of “Pantropiko” and “Blush” have amassed almost 6 million and 2 million views respectively, making them some of the most viewed highlights on the Coachella YouTube channel.

The momentum only grew for their second weekend performance on April 18 (Manila time). Greeting the audience with a unified “Mabuhay,” and introducing themselves in their respective Philippine languages, the group switched up their opening number to “Strings.”

They followed it with a string of hits, including “Zero Pressure,” “Out Of My Head,” “Karera,” “Salamin, Salamin,” “Blink Twice,” “Cherry On Top,” “Blush,” and “Bikini.” They closed the festival with an electrifying dance break during their “Pantropiko” number.

The roots, the rise, and ‘BINI Docuseries’

Just before they took the Coachella stage, fans around the world were given an intimate look at the group’s journey. The three-part “BINI Docuseries” made its global debut on Netflix on April 10, having initially premiered on iWantTFC (now known as iWant).

Produced by ABS-CBN News and recognized by the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, the series chronicles their early struggles, sacrifices, and rigorous training under ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. It serves as a powerful reminder of their roots, and the immense challenges they overcame to establish themselves in the music industry. The Netflix release expands their footprint even further, bringing their inspiring story to a broader international audience.

In recognition of their hard work and artistry, Sen. Bam Aquino recently filed Resolution No. 370 in the Senate, officially lauding BINI for bringing pride and honor to the Philippines, and for highlighting Filipino talent on the world stage.
