Blinks have another reason to celebrate as their idols have taken the top spot as the most subscribed female artist on YouTube, with 42.3 million subscribers.
This means that the Korean girl group Blackpink has overtaken other female artists such as Ariana Grande (42.2 million), Taylor Swift (38.7 million), and Katy Perry (37.7 million).
Earlier this week, YG Entertainment unveiled a teaser poster for Blackpink’s much anticipated new single. The teaser poster hints that the single to be released next month will feature another artist. Fans have been speculating that the mystery artist could be Ariana Grande. Blackpink has recently collaborated with Lady Gaga on her song “Sour Candy.”

Last month, the K-pop group debuted the song “How You Like That,” the first pre-release single from their upcoming studio album set to be released in September.
Before becoming the most-subscribed female artist on YouTube, Blackpink also set a new record on Twitter. The microblogging site said Blackpink’s live Q&A session with Twitter Korea on June 30 reached a cumulative 2.2 million viewers and was #1 on Twitter’s worldwide trends during the livestream.
