Kim Bum visited the Philippines in 2009 to shoot a commercial for RC Cola with Maja Salvador. He was also interviewed on ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz.”

Lee Min-ho to attend SM anniversary

For his part, Lee Min-ho will be at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on October 15, 2023, according to real-estate developer SM Development Corporation (SMDC). He will be joining SMDC’s celebration of SM’s 65th anniversary.

“The countdown begins. Join SMDC as we celebrate SM’s 65th anniversary with Korean Superstar Lee Minho live in Manila!” the company posted on its social media accounts.

On Thursday, September 14, Lee Min-ho’s agency announced that it will be inviting to the SMDC event 30 members of Lee Min-ho’s fan club in the Philippines.

“As the special benefits for MINOZ members, thanks to SMDC, we are pleased to invite 30 members of 14TH MINOZ residing in the Philippines to the ‘SMDC Celebrates SM 65th with LEE MINHO,’” read the announcement on Lee Min-ho’s website.

The invitation will be exclusive to “14th MINOZ members with a [Special Kit] delivery address in the Philippines.”

Last March, SMDC announced Lee Min-ho as its endorser.

As of this writing, there are no reports yet of a separate fan meeting event with Lee Min-ho. He has been to the Philippines several times in events organized by Filipino clothing brand Bench.

Lee Min-ho was most recently seen in the dramas “Pachinko” and “The King: Eternal Monarch.” Fans await the release of his latest project, a sci-fi romantic comedy entitled “Ask the Stars.”

‘Hana Yori Dango’

“Boys Over Flowers” is the Korean adaptation of Yoko Kamio’s Japanese manga series “Hana Yori Dango.” It tells the story of a commoner in an elite school and a group called F4, composed of rich and popular boys on campus. The manga’s Taiwanese version, “Meteor Garden,” was among the first Asian drama to become a hit in the Philippines.

In “Boys Over Flowers,” Lee Min-ho played the role of Gu Jun-pyo — the Korean Dao Ming Si and leader of F4. Kim Bum, meanwhile, was the playboy So Yi-jung, who became the other half of the Soeul couple. Kim Hyun-joong, for his part, was Yoon Ji-hu, the Korean Huaze Lei and grandson of a former president of Korea.

“Boys Over Flowers” also featured the female lead Goo Hye-sun as Geum Jan-di, a dry cleaner’s daughter; Kim Joon as the rich and charismatic Song Woo-bin; and Kim So-eun as Chu Ga-eul, Jan-di’s best friend and Yi-jung’s love interest.
