The stars of the Disney+ series “Made in Korea” and “Low Life” took home the awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, respectively, at South Korea’s prestigious 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards.
A star-studded event featuring some of the biggest names in the Korean entertainment industry, the awards celebrate excellence in film, television, and theater in South Korea. This year, the ceremony was held in the heart of Seoul’s bustling Gangnam District.
During the ceremony, “Made in Korea” star Hyun Bin took home the award for Best Actor, while “Low Life” actress Lim Soo-jung was presented with the award for Best Supporting Actress.
First released on Disney+ in 2025, “Made in Korea” Season 1 follows Baek Ki-tae, an ambitious KCIA agent who is living a double life. Driven by his thirst for power, Ki-tae works as a government agent by day while running a highly illegal operation by night. Smart, suave, cunning, and capable, Ki-tae rapidly moves up the ranks after using his smuggling operation to consolidate power, protect his brother, and generate vast sums of money for the agency. Seemingly unstoppable, only one thing stands in his way — a tenacious prosecutor who cannot be bought, bribed, or reasoned with. With everything on the line for both men, the series follows the duo as they battle to take each other down.
Set in 1970s Korea, “Low Life” follows Oh Gwan-seok and Oh Hee-dong, an uncle and nephew who have spent the best part of their lives chasing get-rich-quick schemes. When word begins to spread that an ancient treasure ship has been discovered off the coast of Korea, the two race against time and other opportunists to recover the sunken treasure and claim the lives they have always dreamt of. But with competition around every corner, will the duo be able to salvage their fortune in time?
