Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano have finally met together with few and lucky endearing fans in the country at the #CloserWithDonBelle Meet & Greet event organized by oral care brand closeup last October 26 at the Tablo Kitchen X Café in Quezon City.
During the event, everyone couldn’t help but feel butterflies as the on-screen couple spiritedly participated in games where they, together with fans, guessed missing lyrics from Belle’s song Closer, figure out which one of them posted random and playful tweets, and lastly identified surprise items in a mystery box.
Fans were treated to a group interaction with Donny and Belle for the first time following their record-breaking series “He’s Into Her,” which launched the two artists into the limelight.
Asked how they feel about being closeup’s freshest ambassadors, both stars answered with enthusiasm. “Of course, we’re very much grateful especially because we got to do it together. From the first shoot of the music video, it was already so fun to do, remember?” says Donny before turning to Belle. “When I first heard the song, na-LSS na ako agad plus I get to sing it! So yes, we’re very thankful to closeup.”
The exclusive event welcomed 10 lucky winners from a closeup promo launched last July which encouraged fans to purchase closeup products from Unilever’s Lazada online store. One fan even shared that she came all the way from Tuguegarao just to see her favorite loveteam.
closeup Philippines Brand Manager Abby Pel also shared how grateful they are for having both DonBelle and their fans’ support when they initially launched the two as the new brand ambassadors. “We hope you enjoyed this night as you got #CloserWithDonBelle! Please continue supporting closeup so you can help fight bacteria breath for all-day freshness!”
“To be part of this new family and their latest campaign to fight bacteria breath — of course oral hygiene is super important,” continues Donny. “Given our line of work, it’s very important for us to remain fresh.”
The love team also teased what’s coming for them as Donny announces the trailer premiere of their new movie. “I hope everyone is excited as the trailer is about to be released on October 28,” Donny shares. “We haven’t actually watched anything or any scenes yet so it will be a first for all of us to witness this.”
Finally, Donny expresses further appreciation for their fans’ support and emphasizes why seeing them in real life is incomparable to anything. “Your support is very much appreciated and seeing you guys in real life — there’s nothing like it. And of course, thank you to closeup for having us because we also really want to see everyone,” which Belle agrees with. “[Yes,] this moment is really special for the both of us.”
In June, closeup launched the loveteam as the brand’s freshest ambassadors in a Facebook watch party for the premiere of the music video of Closer, Belle’s latest music video as a recording artist.
Donny and Belle had their first meet and greet with fans in New York City last August 2022, during their Beyond the Stars US concert tour with other Star Magic talents but this is their first meet and greet with fans in the Philippines.
