Heart Evangelista and Richard Gutierrez in "Full House" Filipino version

Earlier, we told you about the Filipino adaptation of the popular Korean drama “Full House” on GMA-7.

The cast includes Richard Gutierrez as Justin, a popular actor originally played by Rain. Opposite Richard Gutierrez is Heart Evangelista with the role of Jessie, originally played by Song Hye Kyo.

As for the second couple, Patrick Garcia plays the role of Luigi, Justin’s childhood friend who falls in love with Jessie while Isabel Oli plays the role of Elaine, Justin’s first love.

“Full House” started airing last Monday and I was able to catch a few scenes. So far I think they’ve been able to remain faithful to the original version despite some deviations. For example, this version opted to go to Prague instead of China. Prague is of course breathtaking. However there were some scenes when I thought that they overused the beautiful scenery like the scene where Luigi and Justin chanced upon each other while walking at a park. Wow, it must be fate. 😀

Heart and Richard are the main leads in Philippine“Full House.”

Acting at best is average. I like Heart and I think she can play tough but because of her age, I’m not sure if she can still play cute and adorable. I hope she pulls off the cutesy image of Jessie. Richard is bleh. Nuff said. I find the supporting actors more fun to watch, including Rainier Castillo and Sheena Hallili, who play the roles of Jessie’s so-called friends Donald and Lisette. I also enjoy watching Keempee De Leon as Mr. H, Justin’s manager.

Overall, I think“Full House” is still a fun watch, if you want a break from the heavy dramas on primetime. Catch it weeknights on GMA Telebabad.
