It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of my favorite leading men Gong Yoo in a new project. I was pleasantly surprised therefore to see him on YouTube, courtesy of his agency Management SOOP.
The three-part video entitled “Gong Yoo’s Ship Fare Earning Project” features the actor going on a trip to Jeju Island where he spends three nights and four days with his management team.
Fans of Gong Yoo know that he does fishing as a hobby. He previously talked about how fishing helped his mental health post-Goblin in Lee Dong-wook’s talk show “Because I Want To Talk.” The two even traveled to Jeju to do some fishing.
This time Gong Yoo is given several missions to complete in order to pay for his fishing boat fare. To earn points, the actor does things for his team like grocery shopping and cooking. The most interesting part of these videos is seeing Gong Yoo do some vlogging since he is known to be a private person and has no love for social media.
Upcoming projects
For those who miss Gong Yoo on the small screen, he will have a special appearance in the upcoming Netflix series “Squid Game” starring Lee Jung-jae and Park Hae-soo. Meanwhile, Gong Yoo’s movie “Seo Bok” with Park Bo-gum will premiere later this year.
Gong Yoo has been confirmed to star in Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi thriller series “The Silent Sea” with Bae Doona. The series is set in a dystopian future where the Earth is running out of water. It follows a group of elite scientists who travel to the moon. Their mission: to retrieve some unknown samples from an abandoned research station.
His blockbuster zombie film “Train to Busan” started streaming on Netflix Philippines last July 10, his 41st birthday.
