Tickets to the Philippine leg of the world concert tour of Korean singer-actress IU have been sold out, according to promoter PULP Live World.

“2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN MANILA tickets are sold out! Thank you for your support and we will all see you at the Philippine Arena Bulacan on June 1, 2024!” PULP Live World posted on social media yesterday.

First female soloist to sell out Philippine Arena

Philippine Concerts, an online guide to musical events in the Philippines, said “IU is the first female soloist to hold a sold-out show at the world’s largest indoor arena.” It also reported that the online ticketing queue for the concert reached more than 152,000 users.

For its part, PULP said said IU will be the first Korean soloist to headline a concert at the Philippine arena, which has a maximum seating capacity of 55,000. Last year’s Asia Artist Awards, which brought together celebrities from Asia, including Korea, the Philippines, and Japan, was also held at the Philippine Arena.

IU’s “HEREH World Tour,” originally titled “H.E.R.,” kicked off in Seoul, South Korea on March 2, 2024. It has since been held in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Indonesia. Other countries and territories in the tour are Hong Kong, Philippines, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, and the United States.

Filo Uaenas raising funds for fan projects

Meanwhile, Filo Uaenas are still raising funds for their fan projects, which include concert a rice wreath, gifts for IU and her team, concert banners, fan food support, and concert surprises.

Rice wreaths, according to Allkpop, are sent by K-pop fans to Korean celebrities’ events “to show their support for their favorite stars.” Fan rice or rice wreaths “often appear outside concert or press conference venues — a stand holding stacks of rice bags, usually in the hundreds of kilos,” according to Vice.

IU last performed in the Philippines during her “Love, Poem” tour on December 13, 2019 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Last February, IU released her album “The Winning.” She then appeared with V of BTS in the music video of her song “Love Wins All.”

IU will also star opposite Park Bo-gum in the upcoming Netflix drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines.” “The Producers,” “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” and “Hotel del Luna” are among her K-dramas.
