This spring, a prosecutor will find himself at his wit’s end when a judicial trainee brings him nothing but problems in “Suspicious Partner,” a new Japanese romcom coming May 14, exclusively to Disney+.
A Japanese remake of the 2017 Korean drama of the same name, “Suspicious Partner” follows Tateishi Haruto, a cool-headed prosecutor whose life changes dramatically when he meets an eccentric woman who mistakenly accuses him of molesting someone on a bus. From the moment he meets her, everything seems to go wrong, but despite trying to cut ties, he can’t seem to get her out of his life. A romantic comedy with elements of suspense, this new series promises something both new and familiar for fans of the original series.
“Suspicious Partner” stars FANTASTICS from EXILE Tribe performer Yagi Yusei (“My Beautiful Man,” “Host Inherited”) as brilliant prosecutor Tateishi Haruto, and former Hinatazaka46 member Saito Kyoko (“Mudtable,” “Sudden Marriage”) as Miyashita Sakura, a judicial trainee with aspirations of becoming a lawyer. The series is directed by Yasukawa Yuka (“The Nighthawk’s First Love”) and written by Japan Academy Prize winner Maisike Yosuke (“Haken Anime!”).
“Suspicious Partner” is the latest Japanese live-action series to debut on Disney+. Fans of unmissable Japanese dramas can also sign up to Disney+ today to enjoy “Gannibal” Season One and Two, as well as a whole host of exceptional anime series and global tentpole titles.
Stream “Suspicious Partner” starting May 14, exclusively on Disney+.
