Jirisan” premieres this Saturday, October 23, and its episode 1 trailer is getting us all hyped up. The iQiyi Original Korean drama series stars Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon. Here’s a quick look at what to expect from its pilot episode.

‘Jirisan’ Episode 1 Trailer: Stormy Rescue

National park rangers, played by Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon, risk their lives to save those trapped in “Jirisan.”

The gripping edit features national park rangers played by Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon. They put their lives on the line while they race against time to save the trapped victims.

Gianna Jun’s character quips, “We are not left with much of our ‘Golden hour’ period of 30 hours.” Their team leader warns them of the dangers. But she insists on continuing the search and rescue operation in the middle of a stormy night.

Meanwhile, Ju Ji-hoon who plays rookie ranger Kang Hyun-jo says, “I can see them, the people who are lost in this mountain.” This leaves questions regarding a mysterious ability he possesses.

The production crew of “Jirisan” praised Ju Ji-hoon, saying he’s the most suitable candidate for the role. While the character Kang Hyun-jo is passionate and upright, he is keeping a secret and a tragic past. According to writer Kim Eun-hee, she tailored parts of the character to highlight the actor’s personal charisma.

Likewise, Gianna Jun brings to life the many faces of her character Seo Yi-gang. She appears uptight and solemn at times. On the other hand, her mischievous smile spreads positive energy.

‘Jirisan’ Premiere

“Jirisan” is the latest project from director Lee Eung-bok (“Descendants of The Sun,” “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”) and writer Kim Eun-hee (“Signal,” “Kingdom”). The story follows the team of national park rangers who are responsible for search and rescue operations in Mt. Jiri. Experienced ranger Seo Yi-gang and rookie ranger Kang Hyun-jo are set to unravel the secrets of the peak.

“Jirisan” will be exclusively available on the iQiyi International app or iQ.com simultaneous with its airing in Korea on October 23.
