The Philippine clothing brand confirmed this Sunday afternoon in a video posted on its social media accounts.
“Good boy, gone BENCH/! Introducing our newest #GlobalBENCHSetter, Kim Seon Ho! Tag your friends in the comments if you guessed it right!” Bench said in the caption. Global Bench setter is a term Bench uses to refer to its international brand ambassadors.
The video shows Kim Seon-ho posing for the camera wearing shirts with “Bench” and “1987.” A frame also shows the text “he’s home at Bench.” Bench founder Ben Chan also posted the video on his Instagram account.
On Saturday, social media went abuzz after Bench released a photoshoot video with an unnamed brand ambassador. They did not show the face of the model, but he seemed to look a lot like Seon-ho. Bench also included clues pointing to the actor.
The text in the teaser video says “Coming Soon” in the colors of the “Start-Up” logo. Seon-ho rose to stardom after playing the role of Han Ji-pyeong a.k.a. Good Boy in “Start-Up.”
Bench also announced that their latest global Bench setter is “Coming HOME.” “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” which premiered on this day last year, is Seon-ho’s latest K-drama.
Kim Seon-ho’s fans, who call themselves Seonhohadas, warmly welcomed the announcement. As of this writing, #BENCHxKIMSEONHO is Twitter’s top trending topic in the Philippines with 15,000 tweets. “Good boy is also in Twitter trend’s fourth slot.
‘See you in Guadalupe, Kim Seon-ho!’
“See you in Guadalupe Kim Seon ho,” Twitter user @seonhojian tweeted. Bench is known for huge billboards of its models near Guadalupe bride, which connects the cities of Makati and Mandaluyong in the Philippines.
The announcement of Kim Seon-ho as new endorser of Bench is intime for the clothing and lifestyle brand’s 35th anniversary. Kim Seon-ho joins the ranks of Bench’s present and former Korean brand ambassadors like Kim Soo-hyun, Hyun Bin, Wi Ha-joon, Lee Min-ho, Ji Chang-wook, Park Hyung-sik, Park Seo-joon, Byeon Woo-seok, Park Shin-hye, and more.
