Kim Seon-ho’s new drama this 2021 will be “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” (tvN)

Kim Seon-ho is finally confirmed to star in a new drama this 2021 with actress Shin Min-ah. Salt Entertainment announced that Kim Seon-ho has accepted the male lead role in the romantic comedy “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.” Here’s what we know about Kim Seon-ho’s upcoming tvN project.

Kim Seon-ho to Star in Drama Adaptation of ‘Mr. Handy’ this 2021

Our favorite “Good Boy” is set to star as Hong Doo-shik, an unemployed jack of all trades. Mr. Hong would do anything for anyone in their seaside village of Gongjin. Meanwhile, Shin Min-a is Yoon Hye-jin, a dental specialist who’s quite the opposite of Hong Doo-shik. The two cross paths when Yoon Hye-jin moves to Gongjin after her life plans fall apart.

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” will be written by Shin Ha-eun, who wrote the historical drama “The Crowned Clown.” Meantime, Yoo Je-won, who directed hits such as “Hi Bye Mama” and “Oh My Ghost” takes on the project.

The drama is an adaptation of the 2004 Korean film “Mr. Handy,” a.k.a. “Mr. Hong,” starring Uhm Jung-hwa and the late Kim Joo-hyuk. If you haven’t seen the film, here’s a quick look of what we could expect from the K-drama version:

From Han Ji-pyeong to Mr. Hong

“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” is the much-awaited project of Kim Seon-ho after his beloved role as Han Ji-pyeong in “Start-Up.” There’s been a lot of speculations about Kim Seon-ho taking on a new drama this 2021. He was previously reported to be in talks to star in a fantasy-romance-mystery drama entitled “Link.” However, no drama confirmation has been made until now.

While waiting for his new project, the talented actor recently wrapped up the play “Ice.” He has also been busy with back-to-back endorsements. Kim Seon-ho even had an online fan meeting for Globe’s Kmmunity PH just last month.

Kim Seon-ho fans will surely look forward to his upcoming drama set to be released by the second half of 2021.

This article has been updated to reflect the final English title of the series earlier reported as “Seashore Village Chachacha.” A teaser photo from “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” has also been added.
