Actor Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, released an official statement on June 5 expressing deep gratitude to fans for their unwavering support, while confirming that police have referred YouTuber Kim Se-ui to the prosecution for detention after an investigation into allegations made against the actor.

In the statement, Gold Medalist provided an update on multiple complaints filed against Kim Se-ui, the head of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute.

The agency specifically thanked the fans who stood by Kim Soo-hyun, noting that their trust, patience, and support provided the actor with immense strength during the ordeal.

Gold Medalist also expressed gratitude to investigative bodies and judicial authorities for their work, which they stated was grounded in objective facts.

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station forwarded Kim Se-ui to the prosecution on multiple charges, including defamation through false information, blackmail, unauthorized distribution of recorded material, and violations of anti-stalking law.

According to the police investigation, authorities concluded that Kim Se-ui spread fabricated claims asserting Kim Soo-hyun had dated the late actress Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor.

Police also stated that the YouTuber falsely alleged that debt repayment pressures involving the actor played a role in her death.

Furthermore, investigators reported that audio recordings purportedly featuring Kim Sae-ron’s voice had been manipulated and that messenger chat logs were fabricated.

Following these findings, a Seoul court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui on May 26, and later rejected his request for release on June 2.

The police findings support Kim Soo-hyun’s position and represent a significant development in the case, though the matter has not been finally adjudicated by the courts.

Consequently, the actor’s camp remains cautious about his immediate return to the screen. In a June 1 interview with YTN Radio, cited by The Korea Times, Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative, Ko Seung-rok, stated that restoring the actor’s reputation and returning to a normal life take precedence over scheduling a comeback.

Public speculation about Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron intensified in March 2024 when Kim Sae-ron briefly posted, and later deleted, a photograph of herself with the actor.

Following Kim Sae-ron’s passing in February 2025, Kim Se-ui broadcast allegations that Kim Soo-hyun had been involved in an underage relationship and released audio files, chat records, and other materials that police have since described as manipulated.

Kim Soo-hyun consistently denied the allegations, pledging during a press conference last year that he would clear his name through the legal process.
