South Korea’s top music channel, Mnet, recently unveiled global auditions titled “ONLY ONE AUDITION” for its upcoming global K-pop boy group survival show, “BOYS II PLANET.”
“BOYS II PLANET,” set to air in the second half of 2025, will be the world’s first-ever K-pop global twin project, forming two different debut groups for two different languages and regions. Produced by the same team behind the “I-LAND” series, “Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga,” and “Boys Planet,” this K-pop global twin project will consist of “BOYS II PLANET K” and “BOYS II PLANET C,” which will be produced in Korean and Chinese, respectively.
For “BOYS II PLANET C,” the Chinese-language program of this unprecedented twin project, on-site auditions called “GLOBAL OPEN AUDITION” will take place to better discover promising talents in person across eight locations in Asia—Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, Selangor, Taipei, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hong Kong. The “GLOBAL OPEN AUDITION” is expected to attract numerous aspiring talents who have yet to appear in other survival shows, providing them with a direct pathway to realize their dreams.
Additionally, through “ONLY ONE AUDITION,” the K-pop global twin project aims to uncover up-and-coming talents with “ONLY ONE” outstanding skill set—whether in vocals, rap, or dance. This initiative will open up more opportunities to discover hidden gems and refine their abilities through professional training as part of “BOYS II PLANET.”
“BOYS II PLANET” has already garnered significant attention from K-pop fans and potential applicants worldwide since its teaser video premiered at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS in November. Reflecting the strong interest in the project, the number of applicants for the first round of auditions more than doubled compared to its predecessor, “Boys Planet,” with submissions coming from over 105 countries and regions.
