Sandara Park surprised veteran Korean actress Choi Su-rin when the 2NE1 alumna spoke in fluent Tagalog during a skit in the talk show “Video Star.”

In the skit, Choi Su-rin plays a mean mother-in-law to Dara, who criticizes even her fashion style.  The confrontation heats up but the veteran actress is left speechless when Dara begins to speak in Filipino, saying she doesn’t understand Korean well since she’s from the Philippines.  The skit hilariously ends with Dara asking for a divorce.

Fans were delighted to hear Dara speaking in Tagalog, praising her for her witty comeback.

The video made the rounds on Twitter and made Dara – Sandara’s stage name – a trending topic in the Philippines on Friday.

Sandara Park’s showbiz career started in the Philippines but she returned to Korea and became a part of one of the most successful K-pop groups 2NE1.  Following the disbandment of 2NE1, Dara pursued a solo career.

She now hosts “Video Star,” which airs on the cable channel MBC Every 1, with co-hosts Kim Sook, Park Na-rae, and Park So-hyun.
