Takumi Kitamura, lead actor of “Yu Yu Hakusho,” Netflix’s live action series of the Japanese manga known in the Philippines as “Ghost Fighter,” was among the guests at the opening of TUMI’s new store in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday.

TUMI, a leading international travel, lifestyle and accessories brand, celebrated the opening of its first-ever flagship store in Asia-Pacific with an exclusive VIP preview event in Omotesando, a major luxury fashion destination in Tokyo.

The newly designed store is inspired by the brand’s iconic 19 Degree collection and is the first of its kind globally.

In place of the traditional ribbon cutting, the festivities kicked off with a celebratory Japanese Kagami-Biraki ceremony in which the lid of a sake barrel is broken open with a wooden mallet to symbolize harmony and good fortune. Takumi Kitamura joined Victor Sanz, creative director of TUMI, in performing the ceremony.

Also in attendance at the opening of the 2,000-square-foot store were Thai influencer and actor Blue Pongtiwat, Middle Eastern social media star Amro Maskoun, and renowned Middle Eastern fashion journalist and TV presenter Diala Makki from Dubai.
