TBA Studios is celebrating the 10th anniversary of “Heneral Luna” with a star-studded Bayaniverse photo shoot that brought together the lead stars of its acclaimed historical trilogy.
Shot by photographer Artu Nepomuceno at Gateway Cineplex 18 in Quezon City, the Bayaniverse class photo reimagines the casts of “Heneral Luna” (2015), “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” (2018), and the upcoming “Quezon” as moviegoers enjoying a screening together. The image serves as a tribute to the trilogy that has helped shape cultural and cinematic conversations in the Philippines for the past decade.
The shoot also commemorates the original theatrical run of “Heneral Luna,” which opened on September 9, 2015. The film went on to become the highest-grossing Philippine historical movie of all time and paved the way for the Bayaniverse.
More than a nostalgic reunion, the Bayaniverse class photo is a call to action for audiences to rediscover the magic of the big screen and to honor the creative labor that goes into making quality cinema.
“We assembled the stars of our historical films ‘Heneral Luna,’ ‘Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral,’ and ‘Quezon’ to celebrate the shared experience of cinema and the electricity of a live audience,” said Daphne O. Chiu-Soon, President and COO of TBA Studios.
She added, “This photo shoot encapsulates TBA Studios’ love for and commitment to Philippine cinema as we mark 10 years since ‘Heneral Luna’ first opened in theaters. It also signals our excitement for the upcoming release of ‘Quezon’ in Philippine cinemas on October 15.”
