Netflix has released the trailer for its latest Korean thriller series “The Frog,” which is about owners of guest houses whose lives get disturbed by unexpected guests.

The trailer of “The Frog” begins with Sang-jun, played by Yoon Kye-sang (“The Kidnapping Day”) and Young-ha, portrayed by Kim Yoon-seok (“Escape from Mogadishu”) working at their respective properties. Unexpected guests then arrive, bringing mystery and chaos.

Uninvited guest Seong-a (Go Min-si) takes interest in Young-ha’s motel. Meanwhile, police chief Bo-min (Lee Jung-eun) focuses on the cases.

The trailer also shows a smiling Park Chan-yeol with a rifle in his hands. Roh Yoon-seo (“Crash Course in Romance,” “20th Century Girl”) also appears briefly.

According to Soompi, the series narrates the story of two property owners from different timeline: Young-ha in the present, and Sang-jun in the past.

A narrative that sets the tone of the series is introduced towards the end of the trailer: “A frog got hit by a stone thrown carelessly. Who threw the stone? Why’d it have to be me? Do you know what they call people like us?”

Along with the trailer, Netflix also released four character posters for “The Frog,” each carrying the cryptic message: “Dear Guest, you are not welcome.”

“The Frog” is written by Son Ho-young. It is directed by Mo Wan-il (“The World of the Married.”). This suspense thriller is set to premiere this August 23 on Netflix.
