Myla and Hannah discuss the season 2 of Lee Min-ho‘s Apple TV+ series “Pachinko” and the Netflix K-drama “A Virtuous Business.”
“Pachinko,” an adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel of the same title, is an epic multigenerational story of the Baek family. The series, which stars Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, and Youn Yuh-jung, among others, follows the family’s life across Korea, Japan, and the United States.
Season 2 picks up where the first left off, further chronicling Sunja’s journey as a young immigrant (Kim Min-ha) in Japan and as an elder (Youn Yuh-jung) reflecting on her family’s legacy. It includes Sunja’s reunion with Koh Hansu (Lee Min-ho) in Osaka during the war.
Meanwhile, “A Virtuous Business” follows a group of women in the 1990s who break taboos by selling adult products door-to-door during a time when topics like sexuality were considered off-limits. The main cast includes Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee.
