Netflix has dropped the official trailer of “Doctor Slump” starring Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik. We can’t deny how excited we are to see these two stars doing what they do best–a romantic comedy K-drama!
“Doctor Slump” follows the story of promising doctors Yeo Jeong-woo (Park Hyung-sik) and Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin-hye), who are both experiencing a slump in their lives. Like a classic rom-com, we see the two characters clash in the past. “I never understood girls who liked Yeo Jeong-woo,” says Nam Ha-neul. “You know, I never understood guys who liked Nam Ha-neul,” Yeo Jeong-woo counters. The two become school rivals but of course we know deep down they’re in love with each other even back then. You’ll never fool rom-com pros like us too!
Fast-forward to years later, the two run into each other again as they live in a rooftop room. Their characters find solace in each other’s company. “Why is it that whenever I see you, I feel at ease?,” says Jeong-woo. “Why do your words comfort me?,” Ha-neul utters.
Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik reunite in ‘Doctor Slump’
“Doctor Slump” marks Park Shin-hye’s return to K-drama after “Sisyphus: The Myth” in 2021. The talented actress took a break after getting married and giving birth in 2022. Meanwhile, we couldn’t hide our excitement to see Park Hyung-sik in another rom-com, a genre he totally owns. The “Doctor Slump” official trailer made us laugh with the scene where he threw a tantrum after finding out about Nam Ha-neul’s blind date.
This is Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik’s reunion drama. The two starred in the classic K-drama “The Heirs” in 2013 where Park Hyung-sik played a supporting role.
“Doctor Slump” is set to premiere on January 27 on Netflix Philippines, with new episodes every Saturday and Sunday.
