Netflix‘s horror reality series “Zombieverse” returns, promising a bigger and funnier season.
The second season, “Zombieverse: New Blood,” premiered last November 19. This time, participants face bizarre quests and dilemmas in a world overrun by evolved zombies, and a “new blood” is introduced as humanity’s only hope.
The trailer teases the show’s unique setup, highlighting the “resurrected” Ro Hong-chul, whose rare blood type makes him vital to the zombie crisis.
The trailer also reveals dramatic changes in the zombie universe. Survivors are shocked by Seoul’s devastation and lockdown. Ro Hong-chul’s return adds confusion, while a news report about individuals with “rare blood types” hints at new missions. Suspected to be one, Ro Hong-chul becomes the focus of a chase through subways, waters, and mountains — all while evading evolved zombies. Why do survivors take Ro Hong-chul to Seoul, and can they survive stronger zombies?
The poster shows Ro Hong-chul with Lee Si-young, Cho Sae-ho, Defconn, Taeyeon, Yook Sung-jae, DinDin, Dex, Code Kunst, and Kwon Eun-bi.
“In Zombieverse, we created this universe, and in Zombieverse: New Blood, a full-fledged adventure begins. We designed the quests to offer dynamic and suspenseful large-scale action, making the cast ponder life and death amidst zombie chaos. The expanded stage starts from Jeju Island and encompasses the entire country, finally heading towards Seoul,” Producer Park Jin-kyung explains.
“The comical zombies are key to the reality TV variety show. In every episode, zombies not seen in typical zombie genres appear en masse to trigger laughter,” he adds.
