TUMI marked a major milestone with the grand opening of its first China flagship store at the iconic Shanghai Centre, drawing the spotlight with the attendance of Chinese actor Wei Daxun. Known for his role in the 2023 drama “Fireworks of My Heart,” Wei took center stage as the brand’s newly appointed Asia-Pacific ambassador.

The celebration began with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, where Wei Daxun joined TUMI executives and distinguished guests in officially unveiling the flagship. His presence highlighted the brand’s deepening ties to the region, making the event a cultural and fashion moment that resonated beyond Shanghai.

Wei also headlined the exclusive afterparty that welcomed more than 500 guests into the new flagship space. Attendees explored TUMI’s premium collections, including Alpha Bravo, Harrison, and the 19 Degree Lite series featured in Chapter 3 of the brand’s “Uncompromisingly Light” campaign. Immersive experiences, from bespoke fan personalization to curated music and fine wine, reflected Shanghai’s creative pulse and vibrant spirit.

Speaking on the opening, TUMI Creative Director Victor Sanz shared, “Returning to Shanghai and seeing everything come to life was incredible. The energy in the room, the conversations, the people—it was all truly inspiring. Everyone brought something unique to the moment, and that’s what made it unforgettable. I couldn’t imagine a better way to kick off this exciting chapter for TUMI here in Shanghai.”

The Shanghai flagship itself is a statement of modern design, blending TUMI’s minimalist luxury with striking architectural details. From a sculptural metallic façade inspired by the 19 Degree collection to scenario-based displays of men’s and women’s travel accessories, the store offers a seamless journey through the brand’s world. Unique to the space is an art installation by contemporary artist Xu Fei, whose bamboo work “Journey” reflects Chinese cultural philosophy while echoing TUMI’s dedication to purposeful craftsmanship.

With Wei Daxun leading the celebrations, the flagship opening not only showcased TUMI’s elevated design but also underscored the brand’s commitment to serving global travelers with style, innovation, and cultural resonance.
