Netflix has announced the production of “The Trunk,” a mystery series featuring Korea’s A-list talents Seo Hyun-jin and Gong Yoo. The story draws a whirlwind of unforeseen events and secrets after a mystifying trunk is found in the depths of a lake.

Seo Hyun-jin, known for her transformative performances in “Another Miss Oh” and “The Beauty Inside,” will play In-ji, an employee of an intriguing matchmaking organization, NM. Gong Yoo, celebrated for his roles in “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” and Netflix’s “Squid Game” and “The Silent Sea” is set to depict Jeong-won, a solitary music producer who finds himself in an unexpected marriage contract with In-ji.

Jeong-won ironically encounters his ‘second wife’ In-ji through a contract-based marriage service arranged by his ex-wife Seo-yeon. However, their lives take a twist when a mysterious trunk found in the lake throws them into a whirlwind of secrets and events behind the matchmaking service.

Penned by Park Eun-young of “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth” and directed by Kim Gyu-tae, famed for his work in “Our Blues,” “The Trunk” is set to attract attention for its unique storyline and the dream pairing of Seo Hyun-jin and Gong Yoo. “The Trunk” will premiere exclusively on Netflix.
