Filipino Hallyu fans from various fandoms have declared their support for presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan. In a manifesto of unity released by KPop Stans 4 Leni, the fandoms said they believe Robredo and Pangilinan will “ensure good governance for the benefit of the entire Filipino people.”

Manifesto of Unity
The Korean wave, more commonly known as Hallyu, has long been a source of comfort and entertainment for its fans. But more than that, it has grown to become an instrument of social justice. With the diverse demography of Hallyu fans around the world, we have cultivated an engaging community that listens and actively participates in social issues. We mobilize fandoms, share resources, and take direct action on matters we feel strongly about. However, we are keenly aware that no amount of fan projects will provide lasting solutions to our problems because, unfortunately, we can only do so much. The system needs to change.
While we are part of a global community of Hallyu fans, we are Filipinos first. Everyday, we witness the consequences of misused public funds accompanied by a massive national debt, and we suffer from decisions that were made without public consultation by officials who are detached from the realities of the masses. Our natural resources are exploited, our people are murdered, our democracy is threatened, our freedom is curtailed, and as if these weren’t enough, our history is being revised.
The upcoming elections are a pivotal moment that will determine the course of our future. We are up against a huge political machinery and we must not allow people who have thoroughly and unapologetically lambasted this nation to hold power. Our history has been shaped by revolutions that ousted colonizers and two presidents. May the learnings from these events help us elect leaders who will genuinely serve the country.
With all these stated, we, the undersigned Filipino Hallyu fandoms, declare our full support for Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, as Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates respectively, for the upcoming 2022 elections on May 9. Aside from their untarnished public records, Vice President Robredo’s experience in working as a lawyer for the marginalized, as well as Senator Pangilinan’s long-standing advocacy for basic sectors like farmers and fisherfolks have definitely equipped them to substantially lead the country. With their track record and moral principles, we believe that they will, in their utmost effort, ensure good governance for the benefit of the entire Filipino people.
With a few days left in the campaign period, we strongly encourage everyone to focus their remaining efforts on convincing the undecided and converting others — join house-to-house campaigns, rally our candidates’ platform and achievements, and combat rampant disinformation and misinformation. Now, more than ever, we must stand for the truth and let our clamor be heard.
We are K-Pop Stans and Hallyu Fans for Leni-Kiko, and we are one in amplifying the demand for good governance. We may come from different fandoms, but we all share the same belief that the Philippines deserves a better government — one that will genuinely pursue the best interest of the Filipino people.
We stan forever and stand together. Gisingin ang natutulog pang lakas para sa bayan, para sa kinabukasan, at para sa lahat!
Manipesto ng Pagkakaisa
Ang Korean wave o mas kilala sa tawag na Hallyu ay matagal nang nagbibigay-aliw at ginhawa sa mga fans. Sa kasalukuyan, ginagamit na rin ito bilang instrumento sa pagkamit ng hustisyang panlipunan. Dala ng halu-halong demograpiya ng Hallyu fans sa mundo, natuto tayong luminang ng isang komunidad na nakikinig at aktibong nakilalahok sa mga isyung panlipunan. Tayo ay nagmomobilisa ng mga fandom, nagbabahagi ng mga pagkukunan, at umaaksyon sa mga usaping lubos tayong may pakialam. Subalit, alam nating wala sa dami ng fan project ang makapagbibigay ng pangmatagalang solusyon sa ating mga problema. Kailangan ng tunay na pagbabago sa sistema.
Bagama’t bahagi tayo ng isang pandaigdigang komunidad ng Hallyu fans, tayo ay mga Pilipino muna. Araw-araw nating nasasaksihan ang malalalang epektong dulot ng maling paggamit ng kaban ng bayan na may kaakibat pang lumolobong utang. Nagdurusa tayo sa mga desisyong ginawa nang walang pampublikong konsultasyon ng mga opisyal na hiwalay sa reyalidad ng masa. Inaabuso ang ating mga likas na yaman, pinapatay ang mga inosente, pinagtatangkaan ang demokrasya, sinusupil ang ating kalayaan, at para bang hindi pa iyon sapat, patuloy pang nirerebisa ang ating kasaysayan.
Ang paparating na eleksyon ay isang mahalagang sandali na tutukoy sa magiging takbo ng ating kinabukasan. Lumalaban tayo sa isang malaking makinaryang politikal, at hindi natin dapat hayaan ang mga taong patuloy na nilalapastangan at winawalang-hiya ang bansa na muling bumalik sa kapangyarihan. Ang ating kasaysayan ay hinubog ng mga rebolusyong nagpalayas sa mga kolonisador at dalawang pangulo. Nawa’y ang mga araling handog ng mga pangyayaring ito ay magsilbing gabay sa paghalal natin ng mga pinunong tunay na maglilingkod sa bayan.
Kaakibat ng lahat ng mga nabanggit, kami, ang mga lumagdang Filipino Hallyu fandoms, ay nagdedeklara ng buong pagsuporta sa tambalan nina Bise Presidente Leni Robredo at Senador Kiko Pangilingan, na kumakandidato bilang Pangulo at Ikalawang Pangulo, sa darating na halalan sa ika-9 ng Mayo, 2022. Maliban sa kanilang malinis na track record, ang karanasan ni Bise Presidente Robredo sa paglilingkod sa masa bilang isang abogado para sa mga mamamayang nasa laylayan at ang mga adbokasiya ni Senador Pangilinan para sa mga batayang sektor tulad ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda ay nagbibigay sa kanila ng kapasidad upang matagumpay na pamunuan ang bansa sa hinaharap. Dahil sa kanilang track record at mga prinsipyong moral, naniniwala kami na kaya nilang matiyak ang isang maayos na pamahalaan para sa ikabubuti ng sambayanang Pilipino.
Sa mga natitirang araw ng kampanya, masidhi naming hinihikayat ang lahat na ituon ang nalalabing lakas sa pagkumbinsi sa mga hindi pa nakapagpapasiya at sa paghikayat sa iba na sumama sa ating laban — sumali sa mga house-to-house campaign, ikampanya ang mga plataporma at kredensyal ng mga kandidato, at labanan ang lumalaganap na disimpormasyon at misimpormasyon. Ngayon, higit kailanman, dapat tayong manindigan sa katotohanan at iparinig ang ating tinig.
Kami ang K-Pop Stans at Hallyu Fans for Leni-Kiko at nagkakaisa naming ipinapanawagan ang pagkaroon ng mabuting pamamahala. Mula man sa iba’t-ibang fandoms, iisa ang aming paniniwala na ang Pilipinas ay karapat-dapat na makatamasa ng isang mas mabuting pamahalaan — iyong tunay na magtataguyod ng pinakamahusay na interes ng sambayanang Pilipino.
