Five good-looking and talented young men from the Korean entertainment industry recently formed a celebrity soccer team. Can you guess who they are?
It’s TVXQ’s Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong and Park Yoochun with SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong and BOF’s Kim Bum who is more popularly known as Yi Jung. These guys came together to form the soccer team that they named as “Men.”
Although Junsu and Hyun Joong were planning the team since last year, it was only two months ago that the team was finalized with Junsu as the first captain to lead “Men.” It is a well-known fact that Junsu loves soccer so much and is very good in playing it that he even considered becoming professional soccer player. Meanwhile, we’ve already seen Hyun Joong and Kim Bum play the sport in episode 21 of Boys Over Flowers. As for Jaejoong and Yoochun, I’ve seen them play futsal (a version of soccer) in All About DBSK 3.
The team submitted their application to participate in the 2010 Peace Star Cup Celebrities’ Football League but it was rejected because it was already pass the deadline.
Creating a celebrity sports team is not a new phenomenon in Korea. In 2006, Hallyu stars Jang Dong Gun (All About Eve), Hyun Bin (My Name is Kim Sam Soon), Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince) and Ji Jin Hee (Jewel in the Palace) formed a baseball team that they named “Playboys.” Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun also played in 2006 with fellow TVXQ members Jung Yunho and Shin Changmin as part of the soccer team of SM Entertainment.

Writer’s Note: Is this a good team or what? I can’t say how they will perform on soccer matches because even though I know Junsu to be a very good player, there’s Jaejoong who is known as the non-competitive one (fans please don’t brick me, he’s my favorite tvxq member). I’m surprised that Kim Bum is in this team since he’s not associated with TVXQ but then again, he’s friends with Kim Hyun Joong who is a close friend of Jaejoong. One thing is for sure though, this team is full of eye candy. I bet a lot of fans will be watching whenever they play. hahaha! With the World Cup in South Africa starting this June, I can totally imagine them cheering for the Red Devils.
