High School Fantasy Drama

Kim Sae-ron and Nam Da-reum

“The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim” tells the story of high school student Ga Doo-shim (Kim Sae-ron), who seems to have inherited shaman mystical abilities from her grandmother. Ga Doo Shim’s grandmother dies while trying to get rid of an evil spirit who possesses the bodies of high school students. The evil spirit gets to escape but not before putting a curse on Ga Doo-shim, promising to kill her by the time she reaches 18.

Years later, Ga Doo-shim enters a new high school. She’s adamant on living an ordinary life. However, she still has the ability to see and talk to ghosts and unwillingly helps her mother in her shaman business.

At her new school, Ga Doo-shim meets Na Woo-soo (Nam Da-reum), a straight A student who comes from a wealthy family. Together, the two will fight the evil spirit wrecking havoc at their school.

Nam Da-reum Is the Next Generation Male Lead in New Drama

“The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim” is said to be the 19 year-old (20 in Korean age) actor’s first project after becoming an adult. Despite his young age, Nam Da-reum is a familiar face in the K-drama world. That’s because he has starred in numerous popular dramas as a child actor, often playing the young version of one of the leads.

Nam Da-reum previously played the role of young Han Ji-pyeong in “Start-Up.” (tvN)

Fans of the 2020 hit K-drama “Start-Up” might remember him for his scene stealing acting as the young orphan Han Ji-pyeong. He grows up to be the beloved character played by Kim Seon-ho. Nam Da-reum’s scenes with our favorite halmoni Kim Hae-sook left us crying our hearts out.

With his good looks and amazing acting talent, there’s no doubt that Nam Da-reum is the next big thing to watch out for.
