After being sidelined by his colleagues, a detective will be forced back to the frontlines in “Gangnam B-Side” — an unmissable crime drama coming this November 6, exclusively to Disney+.
Spurned by his colleagues and estranged from his family, detective Kang Dong-woo made a name for himself taking down his fellow officers on charges of corruption. Frozen out by those who remained, Dong-woo was forced to rebuild his life in a rural outpost. But when his daughter’s friend goes missing, the pariah detective gets dragged back into the depths of depravity as he desperately tries to rescue the girl from the dangers of drugs, exploitation, and more.

An eight-part drama with two episodes set to release weekly through November 27, “Gangnam B-Side” stars Jo Woo-jin (“Narco-Saints,” “Mr. Sunshine”) as detective Kang Dong-woo, Ji Chang-wook (“The Worst of Evil,” “Backstreet Rookie”) as back-alley enforcer Yoon Gil-ho, Ha Yoon-kyung (“Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” “See You in My 19th Life”) as prosecutor Min Seojin, and Kim Hyung-seo or Bibi (“The Worst of Evil,” “Hopeless”) as girl on the run, Kim Jae-hee. The series is written by Joo Won-kyu (“Argon,” “The Lies Within”) and directed by Park Noo-ri (“Money,” “The Berlin File”).
Upon its release, “Gangnam B-Side” will join over a dozen other Korean titles that have launched on Disney+ this year, building on the positive momentum and success of the company’s 2023 APAC content slate, which featured hits including “Moving,” “Big Bet,” and “The Worst of Evil.”
In 2024, the best-performing Korean titles on Disney+ in Asia Pacific include “A Shop for Killers,” “Blood Free,” and “Flex X Cop” (based on views), with “A Shop for Killers” being the most viewed series on Disney+ in APAC in 2024 to date (based on views).
Disney has also announced that several highly anticipated Korean originals are slated to premiere later this year, including “Unmasked” and “Light Shop,” as well as premium, talent-driven scripted dramas in 2025 including “Tempest,” “Low Life,” and “Nine Puzzles.”
