If you’re an avid Hallyu fan, you probably already have your favorite Korean reality or variety show. No one does these kinds of shows like the Koreans do, from incredibly entertaining ones like “Running Man,” “2 Days & 1 Night” to feel good, relaxing “reality” such as “The Return of Superman” and “Three Meals a Day.” Most if not all of these shows use celebrity power to drum up interest.
tvN does it again in their new variety/reality show “Summer Vacation” with “Parasite” star Choi Woo-shik and actress Jung Yu-mi. The show is described as a “home vacation” reality show, featuring the two stars taking a vacation in an unfamiliar place to “heal their tired minds and bodies.”
Honestly, the concept doesn’t sound too exciting for me. But producers of the show probably know this so they were quick to get Park Seo-joon as a guest. I’m assuming that he’s just a guest on the show and will probably join the two stars for a few episodes.
The teasers show Choi Woo-shik and Jung Yu-mi going to a secluded vacation location, doing menial tasks like picking fruits and cooking. Woo-shik’s BFF Park Seo-joon surprises them with his visit and joins in on the fun.
“Summer Vacation” premieres on tvN tonight.
