2024 MAMA Awards debuts in the U.S.
This year’s three-day MAMA Awards will kick off at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, at 11 a.m. (Manila time) on November 22.
It will continue at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, with the red carpet at 3 p.m. (Manila time) and the awards ceremony at 5 p.m.
On November 23, the red carpet event in Japan will be at 12 p.m. (Manila time), followed by the awards ceremony at 2 p.m.
K-pop and K-drama stars at 2024 MAMA Awards
Park Bo-gum will host the Los Angeles leg of the 2024 MAMA Awards. Anderson .Paak, ILLIT, J.Y. Park, KATSEYE, RIIZE, TWS, and YOUNG POSSE are among the expected performers.
On the first day in Japan, fans can look forward to performances by ENHYPEN, Rosé, Bruno Mars, BOYNEXTDOOR, IVE, IZN, Lee Young-ji, ME:I, PLAVE, TREASURE, and TOMORROW BY TOGETHER.
Presenters on the first day include Byeon Woo-seok, Seo In-guk, Seol In-ah, Ahn Jae-hyeon, Gong Myung, Kwak Dong-yeon, Kim Min-ha, Nah Yung-suk, E Jiah, Jo Yuri, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Jin-kyung.
Kim Tae-ri will host the second day in Japan, with notable attendees including Byeon Woo-seok, SEVENTEEN, (G)-IDLE, aespa, BIBI, G-DRAGON, INI, MEOVV, and ZEROBASEONE.
Meanwhile, Park Seo-joon, Oh Sang-guk, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Jun-ho, Im Si-wan, Hoyeon, Kim Hye-jun, Dex, Ma Dong-seok, and Mong Sang-min are among the presenters.
The MAMA Awards (short for Mnet Asian Music Awards), organized by CJ ENM through Mnet, honors achievements in the Asian music industry. It began in 1999 as the Mnet Km Music Video Festival and rebranded to MAMA in 2009.
While it is the first time the MAMA Awards will be held in the U.S., the event has previously been hosted in Asian countries and territories, including Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan.
According to its organizers, the MAMA Awards will serve as a year-end music festival, connecting the global K-pop community through music.
