“Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” episode 11 and episode 12 are filled with honey sweet scenes between our main couple, enough to give us a toothache. Hong Du-sik and Yoon Hye-jin try to hide their romance unsuccessfully. And while the two revel in their newfound love, there’s a brewing conflict as Hong Du-sik keeps Hye-jin in the dark about his secret past.
‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ Episode 11: A Not-So-Secret Romance
After confessing their mutual feelings, Hye-jin and Du-sik decide to keep their romance under wraps to avoid gossip. However, Hye-jin asks Du-sik to delay their first day as a couple until she gets to talk to Ji Seong-hyeon who recently confessed to her.
Ji Seong-hyeon proves to be the perfect second lead as he maturely accepts Hye-jin’s rejection. It’s painful enough to know that Hye-jin likes someone else but she also reveals that she had feelings for him in the past. The timing has always been off for these two.
We then get to see a touching scene between Du-sik and Seong-hyeon. Their bromance continues despite Seong-hyeon’s heartbreak.
The whole episode is infused with scenes of Hye-jin and Du-sik being all sweet in private while acting like total enemies in public. Their skits bring out the laughs as Du-sik gets slapped, kicked and even a headbutt. However, the couple’s efforts prove to be a waste as the whole village already knows about their romance. Our Sikhye couple finally decide to drop the act and to love openly, getting Gongjin’s approval.
‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ Episode 12: Dating Bucket List
In Episode 12, Hye-jin and Du-sik do all the cliche couple things together. It’s funny how this drama is hyperaware of the rom-com cliches they’re using. School uniform pictorial? Check. Couple yoga? Check. “Pretty Woman” makeover scene? Check. Yes, we’ve seen them before but they’re still entertaining nonetheless.
Despite still being in the honeymoon stage of their relationship, we’re introduced to a brewing conflict. Hong Du-sik has yet to reveal the real cause of his trauma and recurring nightmares. While enjoying a weekend date in Seoul, Du-sik runs into a person from his past. He becomes subdued and distant after, causing Hye-jin to worry about their relationship. However, Du-sik makes up for his cold demeanor when he sets up a date at the beach and finally tells Hye-jin that he loves her. The whole scene is tooth achingly sweet but we can’t help but worry about Sikhye’s conflict in the upcoming episodes.
Who’s the woman shown with Du-sik in the preview? Why is there a baby crying in his nightmare? We can’t wait for the weekend to find out. Meanwhile, we just have to rewatch “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” episode 12 until the latest one comes out.
