After a year of standout storytelling — with more than a dozen hit APAC series including “Hyper Knife,” “Tempest,” “The Manipulated,” “Nine Puzzles,” and “Gannibal” Season 2 — Disney+ confirmed this week that “Made in Korea” is officially the No. 1 most-viewed Korean Original premiere of 2025 on the platform in Asia-Pacific. *
First released on December 24, “Made in Korea” Season 1 follows Baek Ki-tae, an ambitious KCIA agent living a double life. Driven by a relentless thirst for power, Ki-tae serves as a government agent by day while operating a highly illegal enterprise by night. Smart, suave, and calculating, he quickly climbs the ranks, using his smuggling network to consolidate influence, protect his brother, and generate massive profits for the agency. Seemingly unstoppable, only one obstacle stands in his way — a tenacious prosecutor who cannot be bought, bribed, or persuaded. With everything on the line, the series tracks the two men as they attempt to destroy each other.
The drama stars Hyun Bin (“Crash Landing on You,” “Confidential Assignment”) as agent Baek Ki-tae, Jung Woo-sung (“12.12: The Day,” “Hunt”) as prosecutor Jang Geon-young, and Woo Do-hwan (“Bloodhounds,” “Mr. Plankton”) as Baek Ki-hyun.
The series is written by Park Eun-kyo (“The Silent Sea,” “Mother”) and Park Joon-seok (“A Normal Family”), directed by Woo Min-ho (“The Man Standing Next,” “Inside Men”), and produced by Hive Media Corp (“Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next,” “12.12: The Day”).
Originally unveiled during last year’s Disney+ Originals Preview at Hong Kong Disneyland, Season 2 has already entered production, with a first look revealed in the platform’s 2026 slate announcement.
