Disney+ has confirmed that the electrifying new Korean crime noir series “Made in Korea” will premiere on December 24, with the series already renewed for a second season. Production for season 2 is currently underway.

Announced on November 13 during a Q&A session with Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Woo Do-hwan, and director Woo Min-ho at the Disney+ Originals Preview held at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, attendees were also treated to the news that work on the next season has officially begun.

Set in 1970s Korea, “Made in Korea” Season 1 follows Baek Ki-tae, an ambitious KCIA agent leading a dangerous double life. By day, he serves the agency; by night, he runs a smuggling operation that fuels his rise to power. Clever, ambitious, and fiercely driven, Ki-tae uses his illicit network to protect his brother and strengthen his standing within the agency. But his ascent catches the attention of a relentless prosecutor who refuses to be bribed or intimidated. With both men unwilling to back down, the series tracks their explosive rivalry as they race toward a confrontation with everything on the line.

Hyun Bin (“Crash Landing on You,” “Confidential Assignment”) stars as Baek Ki-tae, with Jung Woo-sung (“12.12: The Day,” “Hunt”) playing prosecutor Jang Geon-young, and Woo Do-hwan (“My Puppy,” “Bloodhounds,” “Mr. Plankton”) as Ki-tae’s brother, Baek Ki-hyun. “Made in Korea” is written by Park Eun-kyo (“Sea of Tranquility,” “Mother”) and Park Joon-seok (“A Normal Family”), directed by Woo Min-ho (“The Man Standing Next,” “Inside Men”), and produced by Hive Media Corp.

“Made in Korea” will debut with a two-episode premiere on December 24. Episodes three and four will follow on December 31, one episode will drop on January 7, and the season finale will premiere on January 14.

The 2025 Disney+ Originals Preview, held on November 13, highlighted The Walt Disney Company’s growing slate of Japanese, Korean, and global originals set to arrive through 2026 and beyond. Featuring appearances by top creators from Hollywood, Korea, and Japan, the event showcased Disney+’s expanding commitment to ambitious, genre-defining storytelling.

Stream “Made in Korea” Season 1 starting December 24, with Season 2 set to debut in late 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
